The Robert Mondavi Institute and UC Davis Library have partnered to advance our shared commitment to supporting scholarship about food and wine, at UC Davis and beyond.
The Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science:
The Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science consists of a state-of-the-art academic complex and a LEED Platinum certified winery, brewery and food and milk processing laboratory. The academic complex houses the departments of Viticulture and Enology (VEN), and Food Science and Technology (FST), administrative offices, the UC Davis Olive Center, the Honey and Pollination Center, sensory facilities and a food innovation kitchen. The entire complex surrounds the Good Life Garden, a one-acre, edible plot featuring organic and sustainably-grown vegetables, herbs and flowers. Robert Mondavi’s vision was to provide both VEN and FST with a prestigious forum for collaboration, public engagement, and education—all built around the institute’s central mission: “Enhancing public understanding of wine, brewing and food sciences.”
