Anita Oberholster

Anita Oberholster, Ph.D.

Anita Oberholster studies the influence of growing practices and environmental factors on grape ripening, wine composition and wine quality. In the wake of the 2017 Napa wildfires, she began studying how smoke affects grapes and the wine made from them. Oberholster joined the faculty of the UC Davis Department of Viticulture and Enology in 2011. In 2018, she was named one of Wine Business Monthly’s 50 most influential leaders in the wine industry.

Jerry Brown

Jerry Brown was governor of California from 1975 to 1983 and from 2011 to 2019. A leader in environmental sustainability throughout his career, Brown has advanced water conservation and tougher energy efficiency standards. During his final term in office, he broke new ground once again by pushing for greater recognition of the impact of climate change on agriculture and the need for California’s agricultural industry to adopt more climate-friendly practices.
